Capacity builders: Introducing social enterprise

This course is free to Consortia members and their staff, funded by Capacity Builders. If you provide information / advice to socially-minded individuals, this course will enable you to feel confident in discussing social enterprise with them. If you are liaising with local policy-makers or strategic players, you will be better equipped to discuss social enterprise.

On the course, you will meet like minded professionals from other voluntary and community sector infrastructure Consortia. The agenda includes:
- The meaning of the term ‘social enterprise’ when used by the Government and other agencies that promote social enterprise.
- The similarities and differences between social enterprises and other organisations including: private businesses; charities; voluntary organisations; and community groups.
- The similarities and differences between different types of social enterprise including: social objectives; management and ownership structures; and who is involved with making decisions.
