News from SW
Social enterprise Moving On, a Bournemouth estate agent that donates all its profits to local charity Help and Care has helped 20 older people in Dorset with their Moving Planner service.Moving home can be one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. The Moving On team provide the planner service to help people who would struggle to move without help and support.
Jacqui cares for her mother in Poole and when it was time to sell their home she did not know how they would manage. Jacqui said:
“It was such a relief to find Moving On, I can honestly say I don’t think mum would have been able to move without the support of the Moving Planner.
“Rob and Jan (from the Moving On Team) are wonderful, they have gone beyond the normal duties of an estate agent, nothing is too much trouble. We’ve been blown away by their kindness and they have been a marvellous help to my mother. It’s made the whole process so much smoother, if we hadn’t had their help we would not have known where to start.
“Jan and Rob talk us through every stage of the process, from going through the paperwork, to making arrangements with the removals company. They are even helping us to find a new home!”
People who choose Moving On to market their property can access the additional support of a dedicated Moving Planner. The Moving Planner can help with whatever they choose; from changing utility bills to house clearance and organising furniture removals to buying items for their new home. They will even accompany people to view new places that that they might want to move to.
