RISE - BAN - Advising your clients about marketing in a recession

Location - Taunton

Our first 2009 Business Advice Network event will give advisors an overview of what marketing is, why it should be an important part of social enterprises’ organisational planning and how maximum results can be achieved for modest efforts. We will also highlight the critical importance of marketing in an economic downturn.

Book now to hear Phil Parry, Director of Philip Parry Associates, provide an overview of marketing and how marketing should be the central management discipline for social enterprises wanting to survive and thrive through the recession. Case studies will be used to exemplify and put into practice some of the learning of the day. Information about how social enterprises can benefit from the ‘Train to Gain’ programme will be provided by Marisa McClelland, Skills Advisor and Business Broker for the Third Sector.

Launched in 2008, the Commission for Co-operative & Mutual Housing is exploring the role that co-operative and mutual housing should play in national housing and community strategy, basing its recommendations on evidence assembled through research and evidence submitted to it.

COSMIC are launching "Lively Leadership" their new Capacity Builders funded project, designed to enable Social Enterprise leaders of all levels to develop their confidence, competence and commitment in order to inspire their organisations and their people with passion and a sense of shared purpose.

The project will offer a new and innovative way for leaders in social enterprises to develop, giving leaders at all levels an opportunity to realise their full potential and access the most appropriate support available both through the project and through other sources. The programme will be flexible and will be tailored to the individuals’ needs and aspirations

Participation in this project will arm leaders of Social Enterprises with the tools and advice they need to drive their enterprises forward in a planned and strategic manner. Places are limited so booking is essential.
