Calling all social franchises! The Social Enterprise Coalition (SEC) is conducting new research into social franchising across the UK, which aims to understand the process of social franchising and licensing, what barriers may exist, and what support is needed, among other issues. The overall aim of the research is to provide a comprehensive franchising toolkit for social enterprises and establish networking opportunities for social franchises and interested partners.

Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude, and Minister for Civil Society, Nick Hurd, have written an open letter to the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors asking them to contribute their ideas to help reduce the deficit. They are being asked to share ideas about how they can help reduce the deficit directly with the Office for Civil Society.

The European co-operation programme Interreg IVA France (Channel) - England will organise its Major Annual Event on 8 and 9 November 2010 in Exeter or its surroundings. A public procurement procedure to choose the organisation who will organise this event has been launched by the programme's Joint Technical Secretariat at the Conseil Régional de Haute-Normandie (Upper Normandy Regional Council ) based in Rouen, France.
